DJ SKiP can't handle spicy food! Says that Red Chillies are his sworn enemies!

While there are thousands of DJ's trying to make it big in the Indian music scene, there is a particular DJ whose skill is a topic of discussion amongst club goers in almost of every state in India.

Unlike other DJ's Skip doesn't really plan out his sets. Instead, he carries 10,000 tracks on him and can mix almost anything, no matter what genre it is! I have personally seen him on the turntables at Dreamhack 2018 which was India's biggest gaming festival. I had the chance to sit down with Skip backstage and find out what really keeps him going. Here is what he has to say.

You are performing here at a really big gaming festival, do you like playing video games?
"I have been playing Tekken all my life. I play only one game and Tekken 3 and 5 are my favourite ones. I like Paul, Jin and Kazuya and I have been following the Mishima story since it came out. I am also a big fan of Dragon Ball Z."

What do you think the music is like in our country right now?
"It's really good. The scene right now is really progressive. There are a lot of new DJs coming up and the technology we use is improving. I just think that DJs need to practice more. There was a certain craze among youngsters about being a DJ but I think it has gone down a bit, now everyone wants to be a rapper."

How would you define your relationship with food?
"I am a big foodie, I love food. I make it a point to try all sorts of food. I think I must have tried almost every cuisine from our country. The only place I haven't eaten from is Rajasthan."

What kind of food do you like the most?
"I am not cranky about food but is selective about the food I eat. I'm not obsessed with food. I have a very sensitive stomach. So a lot of flavours is nice but a lot of spice isn't. I stay away from Andhra mess because it's too spicy for me. Red chillies are my sworn enemy."

Since you travel across the country for gigs, what's the best food you've come across while travelling?
"My favourite cuisine is northeastern. In the northeast, people go out on picnics to riverbanks and cook the food right at the spot which is really tasty. They have a sauce that they make from blood and it's amazing. There are a lot of flavours in the northeast and it's not all spicy."

What are your favourite places to eat and drink in Mumbai?
"My favourite place in Mumbai to eat is Cafe Zoe. I don't drink and partying for me is an occupation. But when it comes to parties, I think house parties are the best."
