A Home Grower Answers Questions About Growing Weed At Home

This guy has a whole new take on 'Ghar Ki Kheti!'

Weed is becoming a mainstream culture in India. And as the demand for weed rises, the production is rushed. The used produce is often spiked with a number of chemicals and most of us don’t know what pure weed looks like.

So this guy decided to grow his own weed at home - and for everyone's safety let's call him Mr.M.
M invited me to his house where I was shocked to see a marijuana plant growing taller than me! I had a lot of questions about growing weed and I knew that I had met the right person.

I asked M why he started growing weed to which he replied, “I was tired of scoring weed every time so I and my friend decided that we will plant our own stash.”

Shocked by the sheer size of the plant, I asked M about how he managed to grow this one so big. “It took me about two years to successfully grow a plant. There was no one to teach me so I learned things from google and youtube.” He said

While I held the leaves of this plant in my hand, I could smell it from quite a distance. So I asked M about how he masks the smell since he is growing it in a residential area. “I guess the neighbors don’t mind. Smoking at home never created a problem so I guess they won’t mind me growing a plant in my house.” says M.

“A plant like this needs to be taken care of. It's a living thing and all it needs is some good vibes and you need to look out for rats so that they don’t get into it. We have to moderate the amount of Sunlight that the plant receives and we also need to make sure that there is a cool breeze. You also have to water the plant at regular intervals or it will go dry in Mumbai’s heat. “ Said M when we asked him about how he takes care of the plant.

It seems really cool at first but growing weed is still an illegal activity. I asked M if he sees a future in growing weed. He says, “Its risky business. I don't really know if there is a future for this activity but I can see a good future for the plant. I've never been caught before but if I do, I guess I'll pay a hefty fine and start the process again.”

I had never seen a live marijuana plant before. And I had never thought that it can be so big. Growing weed at home sees like an easy task but it requires a lot of patience and you need to be alert of your surroundings. But M says that the final produce is totally worth it. “After all its ‘Ghar Ki Kheti’ and you know that homemade things are always better. This weed is pure, its completely unadulterated. I can make hash if I want or even dry the leaves and smoke it as it is. But ill know for a fact that what I’m smoking is pure.”
