Binge Review: Sunday Brunch At Butterfly High BKC

Have you ever tried Dosa Quesadillas?

Sunday Brunches and Cookout scenes have started becoming a popular scene in cities like Mumbai and Pune. A lot of people don’t like going out on Sunday evenings because they can’t rest up enough for work next day, so instead, they prefer going out during the day and getting some grub and booze.

We were invited to Butterfly High in BKC to check out their Sunday brunch scene and taste some of the dishes and cocktails they are serving. The restaurant recently completed a year of business and we were pretty intrigued to try out their special menu.

We started off our brunch with a couple of cocktails. The first cocktail we tried was called ‘A Song Of Fire And Ice’ and as the name suggests it was a Game Of Thrones-themed drink. The cocktail was a bright blue concoction that was served with an ice goal dipped right inside and had a large shot of vodka. The first sip itself reminded of a milkmaid gola we had tried at Juhu beach but only this was alcoholic.

The second cocktail also had a gola dipped inside and was bright pink in color. It was a perfect blend of strawberries and chocolate and reminded us of the staple pink and brown ice cream candy which many of us must have had in our childhood.

We strolled down to the live counter where the chef was mixing batter for dosas but after taking a closer look, we saw that he was actually making Dosa Quesadillas! The Dosa Quesadillas were filled with a generous amount of cheese. The first kind we tried had a spicy Malaysian chicken filling inside it. We never expected a non-veg Dosa to taste this great.

The second Dosa Quesadilla was even spicier as it had a chicken Ghee Roast Filling inside of it. But the cheese helped in cutting down the spices. The mint Mayo served with these dishes reminded us of the token McDonalds mint sauce found in their burgers. The Sriracha mayonnaise also added another level of flavor to the dosas.

We ordered another round of cocktails and this time, we stuck to the classics and ordered a Kala-Khatta Gola cocktail. And adding vodka to a Kala-Khatta Gola can never go wrong! We decided to go off the brunch menu to try one of their signature cocktails.

The Butterfly High is their signature cocktail and is infused with Activated Charcoal Tequila. Topped with sour olives, this turned out to be our favorite cocktail of the lot.

The Dosa Quesadillas had us pretty packed in the tummy but we decided to try the Rumali Roti Shawarma and this was the most aesthetic shawarma we have eaten. The roti was crispy and didn’t get soggy with all the delicious filling.

By the time we were done with the shawarma, we had absolutely no space left in our bellies but we will be back at Butterfly High, hungry for more!
