Celebrate Independence Day The Hyderabadi way!

India celebrates the 72nd year of National Independence, the City of Nizams also takes part in rejoicing this day

Bringing in the most celebrated and prestigious day, set aside for every Indian now and forever – 15th of August! As India celebrates the 72nd year of National Independence, the City of Nizams also takes part in rejoicing this day, in its own way. Though it's a day when schools, colleges and offices remain closed, the enthusiasm all around Hyderabad is on high to celebrate this day to the fullest. With flag hoisting happening in every nook & corner, and the cityscape covered with the tricolours, Hyderabad keeps the celebration grand, like always.


Golconda Goes Grand

The city pride, Golconda Fort is all decked up for the massive gathering and facilitation of the Independence Day Parade and celebration. Beautifully festooned for the event with people gathering to witness it, Golconda Fort is an absolute marvel.


Freedom Ride

Freedom taking its own high with changing times. That's what even Hyderabad believes to hold up. Freedom Rides are being organised by biking clubs of the city, in full passion. You would witness fleets of bikers all geared up for spectacular rides all over the city, which would include Flag Hoisting, Breakfast and Goodies Distribution, all for some good cause.


Food Freedom

On this auspicious day of Indian Independence, many fine-dining restaurants, star hotels and stand-alone eateries, have arranged for brunches marking the thoughtfulness, provoked on the 72nd Independence Day! So, head to any of the outlets to celebrate the freedom with food.



Pack-up for Picnic

As the country calls for its Independence, you get to be independent in your own way and celebrate this day with your family and loved ones. This time, getting a day off during the week, calls for total freedom. So, take the kids for flag hoisting at a park, or at the parade ground and then turn this into a fun outing with a packing up a picnic basket and go out for the day. Kids Embracing Freedom

The city witnesses a number of competitions organised for the kids, specifically related to 15th of August. I know it must have raised eyebrows! But yes, even pubs or resto bars, go desi on this special day. Though it's a proclaimed dry day, it's not always about the booze to set your mood right. You can enjoy good music, good food, good non-alcoholic drinks and great company, some days. And 15th August is one such day, when most of the pubs in the city, like to go desi. Enjoy live bands and desi numbers on this day!
