Khichdi, India’s version of culinary comfort has been enjoying its day in the spotlight. Touted to be India’s National dish, this humble one-pot dish has been a go-to meal option for people across the country bringing the much-needed warmth to winters!
Inspired by the different versions of khichdi – eaten across the country, Corporate Executive Chef Kedar Bobde’s menu will feature versions from the North, South, East& West of India.
From the Maharashtrian favourite– KOLAMBI CHI KHICHDI of jeera Kolam rice with shrimps, kokam juice, served with sol kadhi, rice papadto the Karnataka Mutton Khichdi of unpolished brown rice and traditional masala and South Indian Venpongal made using yellow moong with tempered curry leaves, crushed black pepper, served with chickpeas poppadum, each Khichdi boasts of regional flavours. The Bihar Khichdiof Kolam rice and yellow moong will be served with Bihar’s special aloo bhujiya, aloo kachokha, black lentil papad andlaukika raita while the traditional BisiBeleBhaath of Belgaum, basmati rice with red pumpkin, carrot, drum stick, baby aubergine will be served with potato poppadum!
The Chef strongly recommends the Bajre Ki Khichdi, which replaces the rice with pearl millets and is made using wintery green peas!
Available all through December, Neel promises that the all new Khichdi menu will satiate not just the tongue but also the soul!
