Delhi’s Air Quality Index ‘Satisfactory’ Today Morning
As winter sets in, Delhi and the national capital region (NCR) can finally take deep breaths. Air Quality Index (AQI) data according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on Friday, 29 November, shows major pollutant PM 2.5 at 83 ('satisfactory' category) at Anand Vihar and at 50 ('good' category) in the area around Lodhi Road. In Gurugram and Noida the air quality is ‘satisfactory’ and ‘good’ respectively. PM 10 levels are also low across the region. Light rains and favourable wind speed on Wednesday had improved Delhi's air quality which was recorded in the 'satisfactory' category. The Supreme Court on Monday, 25 November, had questioned the central government and the states of Haryana and Punjab over their failure to control stubble burning, which has led to a spike in pollution levels in Delhi-NCR.
