Easter Special - Rosemary Fernandes Tells Us What It Is Like To Run A Home Bakery For The Season

Who doesn't love homemade Easter treats?

A lot of Christian households of Bandra and Santacruz get busy when Easter approaches. Ladies open up season home bakeries that serve easter eggs, cakes, muffins, chocolates, and cookies.

Binge spoke to Rosemary Fernandez to understand what goes behind running a seasonal bakery as we were inquisitive to know how things work. When we asked her why she decided to make and sell Easter treats out of her home, she said, “It’s something that my mother used to do, a legacy I wish to carry forward. She has always done if for parties, weddings, Christmas, etc and all other festivities.”

For those of you who don’t know Rosemary, she has earlier appeared on the reality show Splitsvilla and manages one of the hottest nightclubs in the city. She is also a musician and performs at a number of venues in Bombay. When you are running a home bakery, things are bound to clash with your daily work and when we asked her what are the challenges she faces while running her bakery, she said, “Space is the largest challenge faced by me. There’s a lot of prep time involved in making sweets and it gets difficult to manage time sometimes. I have to keep a track on expenditure as I only spend on good quality products. It's difficult to balance this with work but I’m trying my best and I’m sure I can handle the stress. This year, I'm making  a variety of eggs like Chocolate with Orange Zest, Cookies and Cream, Milk Chocolate with nuts and even Glitter eggs!”
