Ever wondered how healthy your Poop is?

Stop, turn around. Take a look at it before you flush it down!

As much as we all love food, it has to get out of our body in one way or the other. And most of the food we consume comes out as Poop. It's funny how we never think about excreting and shush the topic. I get that it may seem disgusting to talk about, but its something we all do! 

Have you noticed how poop comes in many different shapes, clouds and sizes? And while most of us don’t think about it much, there is a lot your poop can tell about your body and your eating habits. And since people don’t talk about it, a lot of people ignore the signs that our bodies give us, mostly because they aren’t aware that certain kind of poop may actually be unhealthy. Now we know that this is a very shitty topic to write about but if you are brave enough to read further and not be disgusted as we dissect poop literally, you may actually learn a thing or two about your own body! This experiment may also require you to actually take a good look at your poop before flushing it. Pro-tip: Use a clothes drying clip to shut your nose if you can’t stand the smell!

1. Poop comes in different shapes, colors, and smells
2. A healthy person should be able to pass poop easily without any struggle. 
3. If you have blood in your poop, go to your doctor ASAP!

What does a healthy person’s poop look like?
A healthy person's poop will have a medium to dark brown color. the reason poop is brown is because it contains a pigment called Bilirubin which forms when red blood cells break down. A healthy poop will also have a strong odor and will be pain-free to pass. Now we don’t want you guys actually trying to feel it but healthy poop is soft to firm in texture. If you are passing one sausage-like piece along with a few smaller pieces, you have an excellent bowel movement! Go ahead and pat yourself on the back…or your gut.

If you are pooping out what they call Marbles, you are constipated and need to drink tons of water!
If your doodoo has the shape of a caterpillar, you still need to consume a lot of water. Hotdog and Snake Shaped poop is healthy. if your poop is slightly runny, you may be lacking fiber. And anything that is thinner than the consistency of a soft serve indicates that you have Diarrhea!

What does the color of your poop determine?
If its any shade of brown, you don’t really need to worry about anything apart from the shape. It's natural for Poop to be slightly green sometimes. However, don’t worry if it's really green. It simply means that you may have had a lot of greens like Palak or Kale. 
If your poop turns out yellow, it means that there is too much fat in it. This is a sign of Malabsorption or celiac disease.
If it's pale white or clay colored, it means that your Bile duct is blocked and you need to see a doctor Asap. 
If its black in color, you may have eaten licorice or iron supplements but if black poop is consistent, you may have bleeding in your upper intestinal tract.

Now a lot of us get alarmed at the sight of red poop. However, you don’t have to panic. Sometimes, eating red things like Beetroot or even Schezwan sauce can cause your poop to turn Red. But if you are having a problem passing stool, and what comes out is red, you may have hemorrhoids or bleeding in the lower intestine. Run to your doctor!

Different dumps have different density. Sometimes there are gasses and air trapped between the pieces which may cause your poop to float. it's really difficult getting these nasty buggers to flush down right? Well, all you need to do is pour a large amount of water directly on them which causes them to disintegrate and lose some of the air trapped inside.
