Here's How You Keep Your Stash Dry During Monsoons

If you have ever crushed damp weed, you can relate to our struggles!

The monsoons are upon us and the air is extra humid. Especially in cities like Mumbai where the rainfall is of massive proportions, your clothes, your walls, your furniture, and even your stash become damp. Damp weed is a pain to clean and crush.

When your weed is dry, it's easy to simply crush it in between your fingers and it turns into fine particles. Damp weed, however, needs to be broken down into tiny bits using your nails and even a crusher can’t do the trick. Damp weed will also leave a residue on your fingers. Even when you smoke it, damp weed doesn’t burn right and your joint ends up burning unevenly.

So how do you keep your weed dry during the monsoon?

We did a bit of digging around and asked our readers about their tricks and some of these Ideas are really good. The most common thing to do is to get an airtight container and this seems like a good option. But if you score in the monsoon, you will probably be buying stash that is already damp. If you store damp weed in an airtight container, there are chances that your weed would get moldy and go bad.

Even if you are using an airtight container, throw in a packet of silica gel. You can either salvage a packet from a new pair of shoes or a new water bottle or simply buy some online. Keeping the weed along with these packets overnight makes it really crisp and dry.

If you can’t get your hands on a silica gel packet, take a tissue paper, put some rice in it and fold it into a ball. The paper and rice also absorb moisture but its a bit slower than the silica gel method.

A lot of brands also sell stash containers with built-in tech that keeps your stash dry and these containers are easily available online. Some of these containers are also disguised to look like daily objects so that no one can find your stash.

You could also get a small dehumidifier for your room. These little boxes absorb all the moisture in your room and trap the liquid in a collection tray. This will not only keep your stash dry but also keep your whole room dry.
