Every time stoners sit together and share stories, there is always one person who brings up the hills in the conversation and that is when everyone starts pouring in their stories about how they had the best weed in Himachal. At one such session, a fellow stoner who asked to be unnamed shared a story of how a drone delivered pre-rolled joints and hash to their hotel balcony! Let's call him Marley for this story.

It's really amazing to see how humans have made groundbreaking technological advances in the field of drone technology. From using drones for surveillance, traffic control and even tracking wild animals, drones have done it all. There is even an FPV drone racing league which has turned into a global platform. Drones can be really fun even for personal use if you want to mess around with a toy. But ganja being delivered by drones, that too in India? Who would have thought of that!

It's a bit concerning that High Tech drones are being used to deliver weed in Himachal Pradesh.

Marley said, "When I and my friends were in Himachal, we had a hotel room located in the midst of a thick green valley. But being stoners, we wanted to try the local stuff. After asking our bellboy where we could score some stash, he gave us a number and asked us to call the guy up and he would deliver. We called the dealer and he asked us to share a google maps location with him. We sent him our location and he said that the maal would be delivered to you in the next 5 minutes and wait out on the balcony."

"At first we thought that a guy would probably come under our window and toss it up. But as we stared into the valley, we could see a tiny white speck coming in our direction coming from the extreme end of the other side of the valley. As it got closer we figured out that it was a drone and it was coming straight towards the call. The dealer called us up and told us that the box attached to the drone has all the stash we requested and asked us to put the money in the same box, close it properly and let the drone take off! The drone had an FPV camera which meant that someone was actually flying the drone manually to deliver drugs!"

We asked a few other stoner friends of ours and this story actually checked out!

A lot of dealers use drones to deliver packages and most of them sell pre-rolled joints, hashish and weed in Himachal Pradesh! So much, that there have been cases where drones have crashed into each other while making deliveries!

So how is the Himachal police dealing with these flying machines delivering drugs to tourists? Apparently, they plan on releasing drones of their own to track down marijuana plantations and destroy the crops! As per reports, there are low key rumours about a special task force being set up to tackle drones. Equipped with special technology that traps or stuns a drone, they would be responsible for apprehending drones carrying illegal contents. However, it is a tough task to track and chase down drones as they are so tiny that they don't show up on radar and some drones can fly at speeds up to 130 kilometres per hour!

We spoke to Paritosh Kharote who is a professional drone pilot

Kharote flys all kinds of rigs for movies and other video projects. We asked him about what he thinks of drones being used to deliver weed and he said, "Its crazy! There have been so many news stories about drones being used by amazon or pizza companies to deliver parcels and food. But this is the first time I have heard about drone ganja. Its the perfect cover. The dealer is not present at the deal and small drone cant be tracked by radar because of their size and speed. Its a brilliant use of technology!"

However, we have to say, whoever came up with the idea of using these machines to deliver weed in Himachal Pradesh, was an absolute genius!
