Instagram recently launched IGTV at an event in San Francisco featuring many of the Instagram creators who’ll make IGTV great. IGTV, a new app that let’s you watch long-form, vertical video from your favorite Instagram creators. While there’s a stand-alone IGTV app, you’ll also be able to watch from within the Instagram app so the entire community can use it from the very start. This is going to be a great way to up your Food Vlogging game. Food vlogging has taken over cookbooks or cooking shows, this is the new way of learning how to cook and searching exactly what you want.
If you think Youtube is enough for your vlogs, IGTV is different in a few ways. First, it’s built for how you actually use your phone, so videos are full screen and vertical. This helps you to take videos of food without rotating your phone. Also, unlike on Instagram, videos aren’t limited to one minute. Instead, each video can be up to an hour long. So all your recipe videos, new launches and feature videos can be shared with your followers. Be it compiling a list of must have street food in Mumbai or a new salad recipe, IGTV will let you share longer videos with your audience, thus giving them all the information they need.
Just like turning on the TV, IGTV starts playing as soon as you open the app. You don’t have to search to start watching content from people you already follow on Instagram and others you might like based on your interests. You can swipe up to discover more — switch between “For You,” “Following,” “Popular” and “Continue Watching.” You can also like, comment and send videos to friends in Direct.
So, it’s time to create some new exciting content that allows your audience to learn, share and follow your Food Vlog.
