Six years ago, the country woke up to the shocking news of actress Jiah Khan's death. Jiah made her debut with Amitabh Bachchan on the big screen with Nishabd and gained popularity with her performance in Housefull and Ghajini.

When the news of her death came around, it was gruesome and unfortunate to hear about. The actor committed suicide on June 3, 2013, by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her home in Mumbai.

It was reported that Jiah after constantly fighting with her then-boyfriend and actor Sooraj Pancholi, was pushed to take this drastic step. Soon after her death, Sooraj was arrested on June 10, 2013, on the grounds of abetment of suicide.

On July 2nd of the same year, the High Court granted him bail. But Rabia, her mother, sought a transfer of the case. It was transferred to the CBI the year after, transfer, but they refused to charge Pancholi with murder charges but, they did charge him of abetment of suicide.

However, Rabia has been trying to press serious charges of murder under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Pancholi.

According to recent news, a UK based director is now making a three-part documentary on the unfortunate incident. The team is currently in Mumbai doing research work on the project.

The makers said - “It’s too early for us to say anything about the documentary.” Jiah Khan predominantly grew up in London, which is why the makers are keen on the subject.

The making of the documentary is a risky venture, considering the nature of the case. Pancholi, though charged with abatement of suicide, has yet to be given a final verdict. Hopefully, we can get some more information on the documentary soon.
