"I wish I could pee while standing." said every woman ever, and Deep Bajaj, the founder of PeeBuddy heard us.

PeeBuddy is India's first patented exclusively women's hygiene product line. Keeping in mind the ultra unhygienic public restrooms in India, this brand has molded products that ease the process.

Wiping down used, dirty toilet seats and worse, sitting on them - which has only enabled the frequency of UTI's and other genital diseases.

What Is PeeBuddy?

A Delhi-based startup, launched in mid-2014, builds women’s hygiene and intimate care products to enhance the quality of life for women across the country.

“We were four couples on a road trip. The women made our lives hell by wanting us to stop at every fuel station on the way! Plus they always wanted the toilets to be clean. Only one out of five toilets we found on the way met the ladies’ high standards,” Deep Bajaj said.

When one of the wives said that she wished she was in Europe because there she could have access to a reusable, plastic device to urinate in any dirty toilet. “This comment rang a bell in my head, and when I mentioned that we should build something like this (but disposable ones) in India, everyone just laughed and ruled out the idea. However, somewhere deep down I didn’t want to let this go and that’s how work on PeeBuddy started,” he explained.

PeeBuddy is a funnel-shaped device, crafted especially for women's bodies, to allow them to pee while standing. It saves them the effort of wiping toilet seats and contracting infections. It's a portable, cost-effective, disposable device that women can carry in their pockets.

"We experimented with almost 10 shapes before Rahul came up with this design. As soon as the design was finalized, we filed a design patent for the product, and it came through in Feb 2015," he added.

What Else Do They Have In-Store?

After the success of the funnel device, the brand has released a few more women-oriented products.

They launched Sirona menstrual cups, which are environmentally friendly, FDA approved, reusable alternatives to tampons and pads. The cup lasts for 8-12 hours without issues of leakage or infections.

The silicon used to make these cups have maximum flexibility and comfort which makes it ideal for sports, traveling & everyday use. It is budget-friendly and helps reduce your carbon footprint.

They also have other products like panty liners and an intimate wash for women. The panty liners under the label Carmesi, are biodegradable and eco-friendly, with extremely low synthetic and chemical ingredients.

The Lactacyd Intimate Wash has been formulated to protect from itching, irritation, burning sensation, dryness, and vaginal discharge. It has been crafted with Lactoserum and Lactic Acid, which is extracted from milk to ensure no harm to genitalia.

Recently, pregnancy tests under the label PregRx have also been launched.

“In one of our focus groups, young mothers shared their stories about home pregnancy testing and called it cumbersome and annoying! We decided to look deeper into the process and realized that we could significantly streamline it by integrating HcG test strips with PeeBuddy, thereby simplifying the entire process in terms of usage while reducing wastage. With PeeBuddy PregRx, women would now simply be able to test pregnancy anywhere without needing any other accessory,”

It uses the same urine funnel technology, adding the pregnancy test strips to make the process easier.

What We Think

Women's hygiene products are not given enough importance and the launch of these products has given women a reliable and cost-friendly option to ensure personal care.

The urine funnel has helped many women to use dirty public restrooms without catching infections and diseases. The menstrual cups, panty liners, and intimate wash are all eco-friendly alternatives to the regular pads and women's hygiene products.
