Bakeries in Bombay are some of the best places where you can score a cheap meal. But this particular bakery in Khar serves food that you don’t really find at such places and all for an affordable price.
The Prince Of Wales bakery is located right outside Khar Road railway station. The moment you step up to the counter, your eyes are drawn towards the hundreds of wraps and rolls placed at the counter.
The cooks at this bakery make three different kinds of chicken and veg rolls such as Schezwan roll, Chilly roll and mayo rolls that are priced at about Rs. 25 for the vegetarian variant and Rs. 35 for the chicken variant.
Their chicken and veg Pattice is really filling and costs only Rs. 20. We personally love their Chicken Mayo sandwiches and it turns out you can never get a Mayo sandwich that tastes like this anywhere else because they make their mayo in-house.
Their Chicken cutlets are juicy, tender and come with a semi-crispy egg based crust. But what really brings us back to this place is their in house Schezwan chutney. It's really not really spicy but it brings a whole new flavor to your food.
Apart from the savory food, the bakery also sells a lot of sweet treats such as mama cakes, muffins, and biscuits. You can also get bread that is straight out of the oven. Pizza base, Naan, Kadak pav, you name it and they have it.
To get to this bakery, you can simply get down at Khar station and walk till the Kabootar Khana and if you are coming by road, it's just off the S.V. road.
