This Hyderabad Man Quit His Job To Serve Food To The Needy Sets World Record

Goutham Kumar quit his job to serve the society. Today he serves more food to more than 1000 people in a single day!

31-Year-Old Goutham Kumar from Hyderabad has become a local hero after his philanthropic work earned him a world record.

About 5 years ago, Kumar saw the state of people in Hyderabad who had to go to sleep without food. He was disturbed by the fact that so many children around him don’t get access to a proper meal and hence he decided to take a step and started the NGO ‘Serve Needy.’

This year, Kumar set a world record by single-handedly arranging and serving food to more than 1000 people in a single day. The award was presented to him by the Universal Book of Records’ India representative KV Ramana Rao.

In conversation with a news wire, Kumar Said, “We started Serve Needy back in 2014 and we have been doing social activities since then. It was a world record as I served food to over 1000 people single-handedly.''

“My organization's main motto is 'No one deserves to die like an orphan when our organization is there'. We are expanding our organization so that no one will die in hunger. We are expecting help from others and the government to help more people," he added.

Before quitting his job, Kumar worked in the field of marketing and worked with a number of companies. Kumar who was 26 then, understood that he wanted to contribute to society and started his good deeds. Today, he has a team of volunteers who help him arrange for the food and serve it to those in need.
