Thought 2020 Was Abominable? A Tarot Reader Tells You What Lies Ahead

Bingedaily spoke to Nishita Trivedi, a tarot reader, as to what lies ahead for 2020. Cross your fingers and stay put. You're in for a gripping ride.

2020 seems to be like one of those years that has you in a frenzy, trying to read up your horoscope, ensuring you’re wearing all the ‘right colours’, avoiding ‘big decisions’, keeping your ‘financial deals’ all secure, and well, even going out of your way to please the stars. A long-running feature in newspapers and websites, horoscopes can provide a chuckle, some pause for thought, or even eye-rolling among those who don’t believe in forecasts of the future. It seems, however, that the cosmic outlook hasn’t been very heavenly. The year until now has been nothing short of a movie, a horror film, and it’s had us scratching our head at just how bad it can get from here on. Bingedaily spoke to Nishita Trivedi, a business analyst by day, and a tarot reader by night. There’s the perfumed candle, the cloth draped over the television and, the worn little wooden box that sits atop an occasional table hung with black silk. Inside it are 78 tarot cards. Cross your fingers and stay put, as she tells you what lies ahead!

“I did see a big void for 2020”

Nishita, with a mind that is ever so cosmically-inclined, narrates how this very trait got her enthused into tarot reading. This fortune teller has her inner psyche to praise, as she says the vibes were the root of her calling. “Ever since 2015, I would vibe about particular phenomena, and these would take shape in the near future. While I thought this was happenstance or a deja vu, these occurrences became frequent. As a curious teenager, I began researching, reading up, getting my hands on any literature I could find, to answer the questions boggling my mind, and in the process of the search, I landed on the tarots.”

The art of tarot reading compelled Nishita to believe that if she could foresee the future by taking one look at the cards, she was apt for this profession. And here she is now!

We asked this tarot reader about what she foresaw for 2020, and she has a far-off look in her eyes. “I did see a big void in most of my personalized readings ever since November 2019. The void reflected dull and gloomy times, although nothing suggested life would completely come to a halt.”

“The cards suggest life needs to be a balance”

When one falls short of events to blame for the recent horrific year, one often says ‘It’s written in the stars’. But is it really? According to Nishita, “2020 has been the way it is, as the cards suggest life to be a balance - a balance of happiness and sorrow, of good and bad. Filtration is the need of the hour. People often leave it to the cards to have a good life, but the loss of life is something we cannot control, not even the stars. While the cards can see it coming, the timing is dictated by the ones above.”

On a lighter note, however, this tarot reader says 2020 played out really well for her! Predictably, as 2020 started going downhill, seems like everyone wanted to lock their fortune. “The entire lockdown has seen a huge number of people actually flocking in for predictions for the upcoming months. I never saw it coming! The worst has actually turned into the best for me!”

What do the cards predict for the upcoming months?

Sometimes letting go is simply changing the labels you place on an event. Look at the same event with fresh eyes, says Nishita. With her arc of cards that lie before her, she seems enveloped in the unpredictability of the future. She reaches out to the two cards, The World, and The Ace of Pentacles.

The World card shows a naked woman wrapped in a purple cloth, dancing inside a large laurel wreath. She looks behind her to the past, while her body moves forward to the future. In her hands are two wands or batons, like the one the Magician holds. The Ace of Pentacles depicts a hand emerging from the clouds. A large coin sits in the cupped palm, freely available to whoever has the wherewithal to take it. It is as if a new opportunity, associated with wealth, business, and manifestation, has appeared out of nowhere and is now being extended to you in all its glory.

Nishita interprets these for us, saying that The World accompanied with the Ace of Pentacles in the first place of the reading hints towards letting go of the past and embracing the future, that awaits with open arms to not just make you feel complete but at the same time open doors full of opportunities. Breaking this down, the tarot reader says “For the upcoming months of 2020 from mid-August to December, the cards indicate that although unfortunate situations may prevail, these will be in less intensity. The fears, the phobias from the past, heart-shattering moments have taken shape in everyone’s minds, but people around the globe will start to embrace these. They will learn to live in the moments that life has to offer, and learn lessons to value precious surroundings and live life to the fullest.”

Whilst you gear up to check your fortunes that are on the cards, Nishita goes on to reiterate that life is unpredictable. “Who knows what the next moment will surprise us with! The cards act as guidance, as a heads up to enlight you to situations that are unforeseen, as an alert to someone who is genuinely going through a tough phase.”
