Last Thursday, there were reports about two men were arrested in Noida’s Sector 78 for allegedly selling Marijuana online to college students in Noida.
The main accused is Kanav Ahuja who had returned from Sydney after completing a course in journalism. Ahuja used a rented house in Noida’s SuperTech Cape Town to supply weed on demand.
Ahuja and his associate Jaspreet Singh were stopped in their car and when the cops asked him for the registration papers of the car, Ahuja seemed really tensed. After inspecting his Honda Civic, the police found almost two kilograms of weed and Rs 2.26 lakh.
During the investigation, Ahuja said that he sourced the Ganja from Assam which was delivered to him camouflaged with vegetables and fruits. After picking up his stock from Ghaziabad railway station, Ahuja would sell the weed to his customers. During the investigation, Ahuja revealed that he had created a WhatsApp group to supply the Ganja to his customers.

He also said that he started selling drugs because he had financial problems and wanted to pay off a bank loan. But the business was lucrative and over time he had managed to earn approximately Rs 4 to 6 crore from the business.
Over the past few months, there have been multiple cases in which the cops have seized large quantities of Marijuana. it almost seems as if there is a crackdown on Ganja underway. But amidst all of this, a lot of cannabis products are freely sold online.
From Marijuana seeds, to plant growing kits to rolling equipment, bongs, and even oil is sold online on websites like Amazon and eBay. While most of these products are marked as natural/organic/medicinal products, they are really just byproducts of cannabis.
The amount of Cannabis infused cosmetics that we found online was surprising. Facewash, body lotions, massage oil, and many other such products are sold. Even products that are specifically used for consuming marijuana such as pipes and crushers are openly sold.
So if there is a so-called crackdown on Weed, do you think the sale of such products online promotes the consumption of marijuana? Let us know in the comments section below!
