Was It Zomato's Plan All Along To Fool Us?

Zomato, you need to stop it with the loopholes and lies

Zomato, we’ve got to stop meeting like this. Every time I write about you it’s because you messed something up. Now you have half the country riled up with the change of policy.

How could you Zomato? Even after all the rotten food and late deliveries, we trusted you and accepted you because you promised us Luxury and you kept your promise. So we stayed.

Imagine our surprise when we (your customers) went to restaurants after the 10th of September and the waiters and managers rejected our Golds. When you released Zomato Gold, it seemed like an idea that was too good to be true. But we finally wrapped our head around this gift that just keeps on giving and then you come around and snatch the land from under our feet. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating but this is what this betrayal feels like. For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, here’s the new Zomato policy.

The new policy states that for every 2 diners only 1 gold benefit can be unlocked.

The older policy just required there to be 2 people.

Turns out, the older policy is still active in Europe (I just happened across a 12 month Gold plan that was €79).

Zomato, does this mean that you don’t trust Indians? Why should we trust you? Was this always your plan? To give people something really good, and once they’ve bought the service turn it into a usual offer and go along as if nothing happened. Did you just want our money? Does ‘customer satisfaction’ mean nothing to you? This is a downgrade and you no longer deserve to call it GOLD. Silver, maybe?

Your change in policy seems almost unethical because it was like you knew you were going to change the policy after you had enough subscribers. I hope you’re giving people satisfactory replies to all the angry mails they’ve sent you.

Lala Ka Special Pudla in Mumbai

The shop started as a roadside eatery started by Mohanbhai Pudlawala, but then transformed into a restaurant after the Zaveri Bazar bomb blasts, which took place right very close to their roadside stall.
