So what exactly is Indian Kush? Indian kush represents the old-school variety of cannabis indica. This weed mostly grows in the Hindu Kush mountain range. While the Hindu Kush mountain range lies between Pakistan and Afghanistan, the strain of weed eventually made its way to parts of India.

This kind of weed mostly grows in the north on the slopes of the Himalayas. The harsh climate in these areas causes a certain chemical from the marijuana plant to crystalize on the buds. This weed has a very piney essence which is why it smells like pinecones in a forest.

Indian Kush smells very different from conventional weed and it almost seems as if you are smoking hash. Indian Kush is a luxury item and which is why it is never adulterated. And unlike regular weed which is sold along with stems and seeds, Kush is sold in the form of buds that disintegrate the moment you crush them. There are almost no seeds in this variety of weed.

Indian Kush is really potent in terms of THC and it induces a very narcotic and meditative vibe.

So why is this weed so expensive? Most of it has to do with logistics as transporting an illegal commodity from remote parts of India to metro cities is not an easy task. And all of this has to be done while constantly being on the lookout for cops.

While this kind of weed costs around 200 Rupees for a few grams at its source, by the time it comes to Mumbai, its price goes upwards of 1200 Rupees.
